With over 14 years of experience in behavioral health and counseling, I have come to understand that we all face moments of crisis, trauma, and severe life stressors that can leave us feeling stuck, hopeless, and overwhelmed. Whether it’s a breakup, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, or relationship issues, these challenges can make life feel unmanageable. Often, we hold ourselves captive to the choices we've made, but I firmly believe that some of life’s most difficult experiences lead us to our most extraordinary growth. My role as a counselor is to provide you with the tools to break free from these past attachments and help you move forward in life with clarity, strength, and hope.

As a therapist, I create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their concerns and work through their challenges. I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety, and relationship issues. For those in the LGBTQ+ community, I offer a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where every person can be their authentic self. I am deeply committed to understanding the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and providing care that honors their experiences, helping them navigate life with confidence and acceptance.

One area I am currently expanding my expertise in is couples therapy. I am increasingly focused on partnering with couples to help them identify and work through conflictual issues, offering a neutral space for both partners to express their concerns and understand each other’s perspectives. Couples therapy is a powerful tool for fostering connection, improving communication, and addressing underlying issues that may be causing tension. Whether a couple is struggling with communication breakdowns, infidelity, or differences in life goals, couples therapy can provide a roadmap for understanding each other’s needs and creating solutions together. My goal is to help couples navigate their differences, determine if their relationship can be healed, and make informed decisions about whether to move forward together or apart.

In our work together, I draw upon a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Psychoeducation, and a Person-Centered, Strength-Based Approach. These techniques help clients address emotional pain, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop healthier behaviors. I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, grief, and loss, as well as perinatal mental health (during pregnancy and postpartum) and fertility issues. Additionally, I work with marriage and family issues, focusing on improving communication, understanding cultural differences, and strengthening family dynamics, particularly within African American families.

Ultimately, my approach to therapy is designed to empower clients to take control of their lives and healing process. By providing tools, support, and a safe environment to explore personal struggles, I help clients move forward and create lasting, positive change. Whether working individually, with couples, or with families, my commitment is to help you overcome challenges, heal from past trauma, and build a future that aligns with your highest potential.
